Firstly, I saved over €6000 because they are a fixed-fee estate agent, unlike “traditional” estate agents who charge a commission. Much of the service they provide is based online, but this makes the experience very efficient and more transparent. You can see how many people are signed up for viewings, the type of buyers and after each viewing the agent gives you a report on how the viewing went.
Unfortunately I had buyers pull out of the sale on two occasions and this is when we really got our value for money. Robert Gardiner is very experienced and really stepped up to the mark with his negotiating and provided excellent advice. He made every effort to help us and eventually we got the right buyer and a great price. I’d highly recommend Auctioneera, in fact you would be stupid not to go with them. read less

Fiona outlined their service clearly and Auctioneera offered the same service as other agents but with a fixed fee. They listed the property on all usual sites and  arranged for professional photos. As the Seller you have complete control on all the information and pictures used.
Fiona put us at ease from the outset and assured us that the process will work for us and our house sale. The communication lines were excellent from Day 1, by all the staff at Auctioneera. Fiona and the team kept us informed of all activities, feedback from prospective purchasers, all through the bidding process and the closing of the sale.
The Auctioneera platform is easy to use and keeps their clients up to date in real time.

To address a very similar experience as in Kevin Bridgeman's one star review, as is clearly stated on Auctioneera's website and via repeated reminders by Fiona, the 15 day bidding period is not binding.

My partner and I placed the highest bid, and were jubilant when we won. The seller had been hoping for a bidding war, and wanted more or wouldn't sell. Fiona communicated this compassionately, patiently and kindly.

I do think the practice of having asking prices 40K under the real price you're willing to sell for is disingenuous on the part of the seller. Fiona was also shocked he wanted 40K more, it was news to her.

We agreed to the higher price despite reservations and frustrations, and went sale agreed. Another exciting day with hopes high. But the seller and his team ghosted us for three months, we and our own solicitor couldn't get a word out of them.

Throughout this frustrating and frankly shocking experience of being ghosted after bending over backwards for a seller, Fiona was a kind person.

I relate to what Kevin Bridgeman was going through in his one star review, but I feel that it was blaming the wrong party. The weatherman didn't make the rain.

My rating broken down is 5/5 solely for Fiona herself. She called me while on holidays just to talk it through with me when I decided to walk. She cares. I'd deal with her again wherever she works. I did not have a good experience with any part of the above other than her personal character. read less

I can't speak from the point of view of the purchaser's side but from what I hear they are equally as highly regarded. They saved us a packet compared to if we had we gone with any of the more traditional competitors. The rest of the market is likely going to have to follow suit with Auctioneera's pricing model, and sooner rather than later, and that can only be a good thing for clients. Extra shout out to Robert who really went above and beyond for us in every detail. Thanks so much.

For anyone thinking that it must be a lesser service due to the fee, I can assuage your doubts on that score. I wont name names but we had initial consultations with other estate agents who quoted us their exorbitant fees at the end of the visit (with no room for any debate at the time - but I can tell you they were open to haggling after we told them we had decided to go elsewhere - still not even in the stratosphere of what Auctioneera charge though) . Although professional and courteous they were nowhere near as thorough as Robert was though. We just had a much better feeling from the get go, fees aside, and we went with Auctioneera. It turned out to be the right decision. Robert and his colleagues' level of engagement from that point on, and the platform's ease of use and transparency the whole way through made everything far more straight forward than it could have otherwise been.

P.S. Robert, we still haven't found a place in our new home for those 2 pictures you loved so much :P Let us know if you want to commission us to create similar masterpieces for you haha. read less

Not being based in Galway myself, I was worried that it might be hard to stay on top of everything but I had no need to worry. The online dashboard is great and lets you see exactly what's happening at all the various stages of the selling process.
Being able to arrange my BER through Auctioneera was also really useful and took the hassle out of it.
In terms of the staff, again I could not fault them. Emails were responded to on the same day generally and there wasn't any stage where I needed to chase them up on anything.
Little touches too, like giving you a picture of the "For Sale" sign being installed and removed, were nice to have, especially as I wasn't based in Galway.
And, the cherry on top, the flat fee meant that I made a significant saving when compared to the standard Estate Agent fees model. Excellent service. read less

Each... read more I used Auctioneera for the sale of my late aunt's home. I found Robert Gardner who handled the sale to be very good, personable and professional. Each time there was a viewing scheduled, I got a prior notice of the viewing beforehand and a summary of the viewers after the viewing. The viewings were handled well. I welcomed the open transparent approach of notifying of offers made and the final bidding process being triggered when an offer was made at the asking price. I particularly liked that all beneficiaries in the Estate could see the bids on the final day in real time as bids came in. Questions from potential purchasers and the final purchaser are sent to vendor online allowing the vendor to easily reply if answer known. At the end of sale, the sign was promptly removed and I was notified by email including a photograph to show sign was removed. The Auctionera set fee is competitive. The agent's fee was €1599+VAT at 23% = €1,966.77. I made a payment upfront at start €299+VAT = €367.77. There was another option to pay less at start and a little more at end. The remaining fee of €1,599 inc. VAT was deducted from the €2000 purchaser's deposit paid to Auctioneera. The balance of €401 was promptly transferred on sale of the house. Kevin in accounts was efficient and friendly asking for the bank account for transfer of the €401 and in reminding me when I forgot to send him the details. There was an offer at return of balance of deposit after deduction of fee to leave the €401 as a donation to a charity and a tip moiety. I didn't do that as it was Estate funds rather than personal funds and I was obligated to request return of the money. I used the Auctioneera service to arrange a BER certificate before deciding to use Auctioneera for the sale. I would have preferred if the report had come directly to me rather than to Auctioneera but I did get the report on request. I did not use an Auctioneer linked solicitor and the Estate solicitor preferred not to link to the Auctioneera website for the completion of sale for contracts were being exchanged etc. but understand that there is a system there. All in all I found the experience as a seller on behalf of my aunt's estate to be a good experience. Going with Auctioneera saved me thousands, but not at the expense of expertise or any other service that you may expect from other leading estate agencies in Ireland. They have a business model based on transparency and integrity. The quality of the photography was superb. Some estate agents charge clients twice the amount for photography, and then instead of hiring a professional, take rubbish photos using their mobile phones! They have a friendly and efficient customer service team and the online portal is easy to use. I really cannot think of any reason why a vendor would sign up with anyone else! I wish the team at Auctioneera all the success that they deserve and hope that their business goes from strength to strength. - what the bidders' financial status is (cash buyers/reliant on sale of their house etc.)

Bidders can see the current bid and place bids.

We were very happy with the price we got for our house, and how smooth the process was once it went Sale Agreed.

After being given the run-around by "traditional" estate agents (who basically lied about the sale prices of properties and artificially drove up the bids), dealing with Auctioneera was a breath of fresh air. Our final bid was only a few thousand above the listed price and, once the countdown timer was finished, we were sale agreed within four days. The team is very friendly and professional. A member of the team will come out and chat to you and view your property and go through their details. The photographer did a great job. Being able to have your online account and see who has viewed the property and bids makes everything transparent and easier for both Vendor and potential purchasers. I have had an excellent experience, from my first meeting with the knowledgeable property negotiator, to the professional and friendly photographer and then the back up from the office team. It’s an anxiety-inducing process to put your lovely home on the market but it was made easier because of the clarity given to both myself and prospective buyers. To know that there is a deadline and that everyone, on both sides, knows where they stand throughout gives a sense of autonomy concerning the process to all parties. Highly recommended! read less
